The majority of alumni accept jobs in the health care industry. ECPI University graduates see an estimated starting salary of $40K.


A gender wage gap becomes apparent after college, with female graduates earning only approximately $42K on average compared to $53K for male graduates.


The most lucrative professionals among ECPI University alumni are IT Systems Engineers; they earn a median annual salary of about $84K. Also approaching the top of the pay scale at around $64K and $60K are Systems Analysts and Systems Administrators. Sitting at the bottom of the pay scale are Information Technology Support Specialists, making an average of $38K.


Virginia Beach is filled with ECPI University grads. Another city that attracts a wealth of ECPI University grads is Charlotte; given its high compensation (approximately $58K is the average salary), the city's popularity should come as no surprise. The city with the lowest median paycheck frequented by ECPI University alumni is Herndon, where earnings average $50K. Richmond and Raleigh also rank high on the list of cities.

Degree Major

With annual earnings of about $90K per year, ECPI University grads who have a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS / BApS), Computer Science (CS) are the best paid among the alumni population. The degree that warrants the lowest level of financial compensation is an Associate's Degree, Computer Science (CS) ($38K annually).


Customer Service is a common skill among ECPI University alumni — close to a seventh of grads mention using it at work. Knowledge of Project Management seems to be related to bigger paychecks; in fact, skilled alumni bring in salaries that are 67 percent more than their former classmates' salaries (around $68K). Experience with Microsoft Office, Phlebotomy, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is highly valued as well.

Benefits and Perks

A lucky minority (about one in three grads) are fortunate enough to be compensated for vacation while just one in three grads get sick time. Health coverage is awarded to a fair portion of graduates, and dental insurance is issued to most alums as well. A fair portion of alumni take advantage of a 401(k) plan. ECPI University grads are also lucky enough to receive life insurance, a casual working environment, tuition reimbursement, and a company-subsidized cell phone.
