Graduates of Mercer are found working in a number of different fields including clinical care, the retail pharmacy or drugstore industry, and the telecommunications industry. The most highly represented industry among alumni is the health care industry. The average salary for a grad from Mercer is $66K.

Gender

In the Mercer alumni community, men make a median salary of $76K compared to their female counterparts, who earn $56K.

Jobs

The Mercer alumni who make the most are Pharmacy Directors; they report a median pay of around $135K. Pharmacists and Attorneys draw in a fair amount as well — approximately $100K and about $98K. High School Teachers wrap up the bottom of the pay scale, earning $41K.

Locations

Home to a large number of Mercer alums, Atlanta is by far the most attractive city for these former students. Mercer grads also flock to Baltimore, which is home to salaries significantly above average (typical pay is approximately $127K). Though Alpharetta takes the cake for lowest pay among Mercer grads (the median salary is $48K there), it remains a common destination for former students. Other cities of interest among Mercer alumni include nearby Macon and Warner Robins.

Degree Major

With annual earnings of about $121K per year, former Bears who have a medical degree are the best paid among the alumni population. Ranking last in the compensation department are those holding a Master of Divinity (MDiv), Theology — their annual income amounts to $31K on average.

Skills

For former Bears, proficiency in Operations Management warrants a paycheck that is 27 percent more than other alumni salaries. Mercer grads are usually competent in Microsoft Excel, and roughly one in ten alumni continue practicing this skill in their career. Microsoft Office, Financial Analysis, and Project Management are desirable skills as well.

Benefits and Perks

Just over half of the graduates do get paid time off for vacation, but only about two-fifths of alumni get paid sick time. Dental insurance applies to most alums, and a solid majority of respondents report health coverage. A strong majority of survey participants report contributing to a 401(k). Mercer University alumni are rewarded with additional benefits, such as life insurance, a company-subsidized cell phone, a casual working environment, and tuition reimbursement.
