Job Description for Land Surveyor Assistant

A land surveyor assistant helps plot boundaries and topographical sectors of various properties and land areas. One of the most important reasons for land surveying is to protect investments; surveys are often done before purchases to ensure the scope and size of the land are correct and that the land is usable for its intended purpose. In addition to sizing land before purchase, surveying can also be used to divide land for partial sale or division, as well as to ensure that their intended use is safe in that particular area. A land surveyor assistant helps the main land surveyor with all tasks needed to properly survey the land, including assisting with operations in the field such as plotting boundaries and diverting traffic in the area. They also assist in writing the reports of the surveying team's findings.
