Job Description for Marine Mechanic

Marine mechanics work with gas, diesel, and on-board and outboard boat engines and are responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing boats in a professional and fast-paced environment. They must diagnose a variety of issues with boats and their engines, as well as repairing and troubleshooting to resolve these issues. They also assist with the setup and testing of new boats and must be able to move/drive them when necessary. Necessary skills for the position include changing fluids, batteries, and shaft removals, and they also order new parts for boats, disassemble boat engines to search for broken parts, and use various equipment during testing.
