Job Description for Metal Fabricator
Metal fabricators are responsible for conducting fabrication work for their facilities, as well as maintaining equipment, keeping work areas clean, and ensuring that safety standards are met at all times. Basic daily duties include positioning and fitting parts to weld, reading blueprints to fabricate parts accurately, performing welds, and operating other fabrication equipment. These tools used by metal fabricators include grinders, drill presses, plasma cutters, shears, flame cutters, and others. Work hours for metal fabricators vary based on assigned shifts and the company, but these individuals typically work during regular business hours with the potential for overtime.
