Job Description for Plasterer

A plasterer is a construction specialist who works with plaster (a thick, paste-like construction fabrication material). Plasterers are used to aid in performing repairs, remodels, and renovations of older buildings, as well as in new construction. Many non-modular ceilings in residential homes and apartments still use a form of plaster as a key component and reinforcer. Plasterers may be specialists within a construction or contracting company, or they may work as independent contractors. They are typically called in to construction or remodeling projects by a foreman, and they must adhere to blueprints and schematics for the project. The plasterer must be able to work well with intricate measurements and be able to execute the vision of the architect or designer. Plasterers typically work in a construction environment during regular business hours.
