Cake decorators help prepare cakes for consumer use. They listen to a customer's needs and work with the customer to develop an appropriate cake design. The decoration may use fondant or buttercream, and may involve customized text or design (such as a name or customized message written on the cake). Cake decorators must also order supplies as needed, such as spatulas, nozzles, and icing bags. They are also in charge of cleaning supplies such as flower lifters, spatulas, nozzles, icing bags, and icing comb sets.
