They may be called upon when improvements must be made in the processes involved or when upgrades to equipment are necessary, and they must also ensure that employees are adhering to all safety guidelines in order to minimize liability to the company.
Marketing skills are highly beneficial in this position, as district managers may be tasked with identifying new business opportunities that arise; research will also be necessary to discover potential opportunities. These district managers usually have an office, but will also oversee operations in the field, so some travel may be necessary for this position. Due to the managerial responsibilities, candidates with at least a few years of prior experience, especially supervisory experience, may be preferred by some employers.
