General / Operations Manager in Saskatoon:
I am a son, a brother, a husband, a father, a grandfather, and "the boss" to a lot of people. The most valuable thing to me in all of these relationships is my integrity. Being a leader in life means that people look up to you most often when things are going sideways. Never forget you are being watched.
“General” Manager does not always mean 5 Star General. My career path has taken me from being a draftsman, designer, team leader, supervisor, manager, department manager to general manager. My training was in mechanical engineering. Today I am involved and responsible for engineering product development, service and maintenance, accounting and bookkeeping, financial reporting, inventory management and purchasing, production management, personnel and human resources, and sales and marketing. Learn as much as you can, all the time. Listen more than talk. Lead by example, train others to do the same. The success of your team will ultimately help you get to places that seemed impossible.
