Graphic Designer Reviews

What is it like working as a Graphic Designer?

July 2019
Decent but old-fashioned.
Graphic Designer in Montréal:
Pros: The work itself is low-stress, other than deadline rushes.
Cons: Difficult commute with no possibility of telecommuting; no flex days; minimal vision coverage (no glasses or contacts)
June 2019
Freedom to explore.
Graphic Designer in Torrance:
Pros: Not only do I work from here but am allowed to travel and work from other places as well. I'm not limited to this location
Cons: Cost of living is expensive
June 2019
Soul destroying.
Graphic Designer in Londonderry:
Pros: Some of the poeple I work with and the fact that it's ending soon.
Cons: Unfair minimum wages for some staff, no communication, pay discrepencies, bullying and harrassement and generally a depressing and soul destroying atmosphere.
June 2019
Graphic Designer in Edmonton:
It varies between business units, but within mine and a couple of other departments, the culture is toxic. Major decisions are at times politically driven. The toxicity originates from the leadership level, as I have worked with lower level members and they are very nice people and work hard, but they are (as I am) beholden to the toxic leadership.
June 2019
Diverse and daring.
Graphic Designer in Las Vegas:
Pros: The transparency and genuine appreciation is most important to me.
Cons: Inconsistency and lack of organization.
June 2019
A great place to work.
Graphic Designer in Farmington:
Pros: Laid back. I'm the only graphic designer they have. I'm learning a lot.
Cons: A little unorganized at times.
June 2019
Freedom to create your own work within your abilities.
Graphic Designer in London:
Pros: I have the freedom to create and design whatever I feel right to do, anything that follows the brand guidelines but that also is on line on what the design trend is like at the moment. I can interact and work with International athletes and enjoy 360 degrees rugby experience.
Cons: I don't feel recognised as much, and as a single in-house designer it's sometimes difficult to prove the importance of good design and communication and the positive impact it has to the company.
