Regional vice president (RVP) of operations positions are available in many industries and corporations, but a high concentration of these jobs are found in the healthcare industry. This executive's exact duties are highly dependent on the specific industry in which they work and its products or services. However, they generally work underneath the assistant vice president (AVP) to establish standards, policies, and procedures for budgets and business plans. To qualify for RVP of operations positions, extensive work experience - including within the industry's field - is generally required; this usually includes a minimum of five years in management or administrative roles, and it may require a specialized work history. Educational requirements usually include at least a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business administration, but more advanced degrees often receive preference.
