Job Description for Accounting Officer

An accounting officer keeps track of their company's financial records and makes sure all employees are adhering to the law and company policies. They also create financial and regulatory reports, as well as provide internal auditors with advice relating to accounting. If some employees are not complying with standards, the accounting officer must bring this issue to light. In some positions, the accounting officer might be tasked with balancing budgets. Additionally, the accounting officer prepares reports to present to company leaders and provides them with advice as required. Some accountants are tasked with developing forecasts based on market and company trends preparing earning and operational reports.
