Strong interpersonal communication skills are a must for business process/management consultants because their role is leadership-heavy and usually requires working with a production team and their management, and reviewing them in a manner that allows for impartial assessment and calculation. Being able to run meetings, create presentations, and create informational charts indicating where processes are lacking in efficiency will help on the job immensely.
Having a bachelor’s degree in business or engineering is a great way to begin preparing to become a business process/management consultant. More advanced/senior consultant positions may require a master’s degree and more extensive work experience in a related position or field.
