The SQA will follow a set of objectives to evaluate the software, and changes to these standard procedures must be made if/when they become insufficient. The SQA must perform a variety of of tests to ensure that the software is both marketable and entirely usable; these tests generally pertain to compatibility, performance, and loading, and user-testing is an additional aspect.
The SQA may recruit end users to assist in finding bugs by using the software firsthand and ensure that nothing is overlooked. When customers have issues with the software, the SQA will need to troubleshoot to determine the problem and how it can be fixed. Those in this position must also keep up with new trends in the marketplace and maintain knowledge of the latest testing protocols. They may also be expected to come up with suggestions for software ideas.
There are both part-time and full-time positions available for this job. Some jobs may also be seasonal, depending on the availability of projects.
