Best Buy Reviews

What is it like working at Best Buy?

Asset Protection Specialist in Kenosha:
Woking an assets protection with Best Buy is different I think to most retail AP jobs because Best Buy essentially wants you to also be a greeter and that leads most customers to believe that you ARE a greeter. Leads to a lot of misunderstandings since you aren't trained to know about Geek Squad or where every little thing is in the store or what part they need to by for their computer. "Sir, I'm with Asset Protection so I'm not sure how to answer that question for you. Please see one of our Blue Shirt Employees." is a phrase you will have to get very used to. Unfortunately, a lot of customers will not like this answer and their reactions can be quite explosive and frankly distracting since you should be focusing our surveillance and not customers. Management doesn't seem to want to take security or your job as an AP very seriously.
Good for young individuals who are in college.

Running Best Buy for 3 locations in my district.
Telephone Operator in Glen Burnie:
Pros: I like the flexibility and independence in my work . I am currently working two positions in the operations department and have been trained in 4 different positions. Schedules are very flexible and can be increased to 40 hours and decreased as low as 27 hours according to my availability.
Cons: I don’t feel I am fairly paid for the amount of effort I put into my work and skills I bring to the table. I feel I am being taken advantage of my work ethic and my years of experience.
Managment needs improvement.
Asset Protection Specialist in Yakima:
Pros: The people I work with
Cons: My supervisor
Computer Repair Technician in Orlando:
Pros: Flexibility and coworkers
Cons: Stressful, no backing from managers, incompetence and errors are not written up or handled correctly
Drive results.
Sales Associate in Denver:
Pros: I dont have to work overtime
Cons: They expect expert service to customers, but lean hard on employees who perform. If you let management make fun of you, you can be as lazy as you want. If customers appreciate your service, then you're expected to work harder.
