Dollar General Corporation Reviews
What is it like working at Dollar General Corporation?
Sink or Swim.
Assistant Store Manager in Corryton:
Pros: I used to like the flexibility that Dollar General provided to me and my family. The people I worked with became like a second family to me. And the people in the community were mostly pleasant and friendly. I was able to make lots of positive connections through Dollar General while working a job that I was good at.
Cons: Over time, Dollar General has lost that flexibility and family feel that I loved so much. Lack of payroll has both turned good employees away and took its toll on the amount of training new employees get before they're thrown onto the sales floor to fend for themselves. People simply don't want to work for a company where they basically have to figure it out themselves.
No training. Over Burdened with Work.
Assistant Store Manager in North Little Rock:
Pros: My coworkers.
Cons: My GSM & DM
It's fun to be able to interact with customers and learn how they save money, but store management isn't all that good.
Sales Associate in Bowie:
Pros: Interacting with customers
Cons: Not having any benefits, and store management
The company itself is great.
Assistant Store Manager in Elberton:
Pros: I like working with the public most days, and I like working to better myself and move up within the company.
Cons: Sometimes I feel like I'm not given enough credit
Awesome Opportunity.
Lead Sales Associate in Pasadena:
Pros: Making Customers Happy with their purchase and satisfied with their visit.
Cons: Employee Gossip and bickering
Great.
Retail Store Manager in San Antonio:
Pros: The people
Cons: On call 24/7
Too much overtime, too little pay and workers.
Assistant Store Manager in Chillicothe:
Pros: Not having to take work home with me
Cons: All the overtime with little pay
