What is it like working at JD Byrider?

Byrider has provided an opportunity to work on a variety of projects to grow my skillset. The balance of autonomy and support from leadership is appreciated. As in any company, there are some challenging dynamics and on occasion conflicting priorities - but overall it's been a great place to work.
Good in theory, lacking in practice.

Pros: Working for Byrider is an interesting experience. At its core (and its the same as when I was first on the Help Desk) Byrider is about giving people a second chance. If you've made some bad choices in your life, and other places turn you down, Byrider is more likely than not willing to help you get into a vehicle, but at a cost. This is where the "lacking in practice" comes into play. While it's understandable that if you are rejected in other areas and this is your "last resort", there would be a reason why it's a last resort. The vehicles sold at Byrider aren't always "Quality" vehicles, as they are still first and foremost a "Used" car dealership. As such, you are still likely to have mechanical issues with your vehicle. People still need to understand that you need to do general maintenance, but sometimes you do need to pay more for your vehicle, which is where the quality falls off a bit. Despite the philosophy being slightly off, the job itself is a joy. There is always a challenge to be met with new requests or requirements, budgets are actively discussed with management and equipment and/or software is regularly discussed on how it can be implemented into the environment.
Cons: The thing I like the least about the job is the lack of support from the top of the chain, as there is a lot of "visibility" issues. What some believe is a "good idea" either isn't feasible, isn't actually thought out or is not properly communicated. Things such as "Hey I need this done", "When do you need it done?" "I need it done last week when I was supposed to tell you but I forgot." This and a few other small things aren't enough to make me want to leave the job, but things that could make the job easier (or at least feasible) doesn't always get thought out, and causes problems quite often.
