Q: What is it like working as an Accounting mANAGER?
I've learned over the years that having a license to quote and show and manage space may improve my worth to the company. I do more than accounting, I am also a Property Manager and I support the owner of the company. One day I am reading meters and the next day meeting with our Attorney or CPA to discuss tax returns.

"Silverdale, a mixed bag."
Accounting Manager in Silverdale:
Pros: Silverdale has plenty of places to eat and shop, and has a great view of Dyes inlet and the Olympics. Clear Creek trail runs through it and it is kept up by volunteers. Silverdale has two waterfront parks and a dog park. Island Lake is close by, as well as several other parks in short driving distance. Its close to the Fairgrounds, and has a parade each year. Orca whales sometimes venture into the inlet and there is a nice marina. There are two movie theaters and almost any commodity you could want it available there.
Cons: Silverdale is the main retail center for the peninsula and surrounding rural areas and is crowded all of the time. There are too many traffic lights and it takes too much time to drive from one side to the other. It grew rapidly and the infrastructure is not sufficient for the volume. Construction is constantly happening making it worse. During the holidays it's a parking lot. Since Silverdale is not a city of its own, it is considered unincorporated Kitsap County. There is no ordinance against panhandling and there are several that panhandle daily. Homeless people camp out in the parks and the trails at night and trash them. The only police is the county Sheriff, and there are not enough of them to patrol the area. Retail keeps growing and building, taking out what was left of the beautiful forests and landscape that cupped Silverdale in its little valley. Theft crime is very high in the area.
