A civil engineer in training, also called an engineer trainee or civil engineering intern, is someone who may work on, design, build, or repair public works. Civil engineers may be asked to work on bridges, public buildings, waterways, roads, railroads, or any publicly funded structure. Civil engineers in training must have knowledge of engineering, which includes the technology and architectural knowledge necessary to complete and maintain public works projects. Also, they must understand the physics behind the structure while being able to accommodate the budget of the organization that employs them.
