Digital Marketing Manager:
Pros: I have ownership of most of the digital marketing at the company. This has given me a vast experience that I wouldn't have been able to receive at a stuffy, corporate company. I do like the flexibility with working from home occasionally and with vacation usage.
Cons: Often stressful since I own email marketing and social media marketing for the company. We are a startup company, so this is commonplace.

Digital Marketing Manager:

Cons: Disconnected from both agency and paper.
Bad processes, especially in accounting.
No understanding of digital in the company.
No one handles SEO for the paper, so the inventory is dropping like crazy.
Constantly having to train people on things that are not in wheelhouse.
No accountability for bad sales.
No accountability for poor account management.
No accountability for bad creative.
High pressure, low payout.
Austerity measures, like paid coffee and company store for snacks (higher prices than convenience store down the street)
Building still under construction.
