What is it like working as a Graphic Designer?
June 2016
Great corporate culture.
Graphic Designer:
Pros: Great corporate culture, great people and lot of ways of learning something new everyday.
Cons: Salary is low, lot of stress sometimes and doing something great isn't really recognized.

Never loose your passion.
Graphic Designer:
When you don't feel the passion, and work actually feels like work, re-evaluate your position and the job.

Amazing.
Graphic Designer:
Pros: Working as a graphic designer is amazing.
Cons: I don't get paid enough for how hard I work.

FUN but stressful.
Graphic Designer:
Pros: I love that I'm able to be creative every day. Im able to put what I think onto the screen and make it come to life. I love that I'm able to communicate effectively with customers and co workers, and always come up with the perfect solution to their problems. Whether it regards artwork or simple tasks. The culture at work is awesome. Everybody is friendly here. There is not one person you cant have a conversation with.
Cons: The thing I like least is that I dont feel I get paid as much as I should. I feel under appreciated at times. Back handed compliments seem to not bother me but I try not to let them get to me because of the position I'm in. I just remind myself how thankful I am for having a job. But I also have to remind myself that I also deserve more.

Graphic Designer:
For a new graphic designer, I would say you should have a way to organize your files so that in the event that you move to another job or get promoted that another designer can find them. The naming convention should be discussed among your co-workers.
Also, if you work with InDesign then styles are your friend.

Fun.
Graphic Designer:
Pros: I get to be creative everyday.
Cons: Trying to meet a lot of deadlines.
May 2016
Exciting work, not enough money.
Graphic Designer:
Pros: Working on some exciting project for national brands with a great team of co-workers.
Cons: Getting paid less that others in the local industry even though I have more experience. Not feeling valued by upper management.
