Job Description for Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Heavy equipment mechanics are in charge of maintaining company-related machinery. They are responsible for providing upkeep to that machinery to ensure that needed equipment functions properly; this includes preventive care and maintenance. Heavy equipment mechanics perform regular inspections to ensure machines comply with local, state, and federal regulations. They must possess advanced mechanical skills to troubleshoot and fix industrial equipment using heavy tools, as well as receive regular training to meet performance standards. These mechanics typically work in a production plant environment and follow strict safety guidelines to prevent work-related injuries.
