Poor communication and old-school boys-club mentality is the norm. The culture is very retaliatory and it seems common that instead of collaboration, you constantly see many employees being set up to fail not only by their managers, but employees in other departments as well. Not a healthy environment to work!

Pros: If you are willing to relocate and/or work from home, there is a lot of opportunity.
Cons: Dollar General is a low cost operator. Everyone is expected to do enough work for two people. There is also an opportunity for knowledge management in DG. Because most people move between roles in every 1-2 years, passing on knowledge doesn't happen.
