Job Description for Inventory Control Supervisor

An inventory control supervisor has many responsibilities related to a company's inventory control procedures. One of their main responsibilities is maintaining records of inventory and the location of individual products in warehouses and off-site locations. They are also normally responsible for controlling costs through different avenues such as staff productivity, proper utilization of storage space, and proper protection of all stored materials. These supervisors also recommend fixes or replacements for equipment as needed. If there are product losses, the inventory control supervisor is in charge of creating and implementing a plan to correct the issue. This position is typically full time and takes place in an office setting, although travel to their company's warehouses and storage locations may be required as well.
