Principal mechanical engineers are responsible for providing effective mechanical solutions to company equipment. They are in charge of fixing industrial machinery that is needed for production. In addition, they also maintain parts, as well as an accurate inventory of production accessories. They take a leadership role in servicing equipment and supervise work performance of other engineers. Most of the time, principal mechanical engineers are on the production floor making sure all company machinery is working up to standards. They also follow strict safety conditions and use safety goggles and steel toe boots to avoid accidents. Principal mechanical engineers assist in the correction of manufacturing issues and design problems.
