Registered Nurse (RN) Reviews

What is it like working as a Registered Nurse (RN)?

July 2019
The CEO finds way's of getting paid more while nurses are still terribly compensated.
Registered Nurse (RN) in Pittsburgh:
Pros: Working with coworkers.
Cons: A new grad, with no bachelor's degree, in New Jersey can be paid more than a nurse in Pittsburgh, at the largest well known hospital, with 4 years experience AND a bachelor's degree and a certification. Completely underpaid.

Registered Nurse (RN) in Chester:
Rockingham VNA. I case manage up to 20 patients at a time. We see 6 patients per day. Managers are receptive to our concerns or suggestions. I love my patients. One thing I don't like is the documentation. It has taken me yrs to finally get my documentation done during working hrs. It takes disciple to do this as many put it off until later in the evening and that leads to poor work life balance. I have learned to prioritize the visits and what really needs to be documented.

Registered Nurse (RN) in Chicago:
It is a family like atmosphere. I was really comfortable with the staff and families because they were just like me. Compensation was of the norm for this type of nursing. There is no micromanaging. It was a little hard to implement understanding of new and current policy training because of the status quo mentality of staff and management. This is a very good place to work.
July 2019
It has pro's and con's.
Registered Nurse (RN) in Phoenix:
Pros: The on boarding training is fantastic!
Cons: The middle management is not in touch with the need of floor personnel, and upper management seems to care more about money than patient outcome and longevity of floor staff.
June 2019
Hectic. All the time. The hospital is understaffed and the materials and equipment we have to treat patients is lacking. Equipment is constantly breaking and the communication between staff is terrible.
Registered Nurse (RN) in Lewiston:
Pros: My co-workers on nights are amazing.
Cons: No training/education in my specialty
June 2019
Good vna to work for.
Registered Nurse (RN) in Sandown:
Pros: Good managers. Positive atmosphere. Great patients .
Cons: When we are shorted staffed

Registered Nurse (RN) in Waukesha:
Very under staffed. Passive aggressive manager who does not respond to issues. Scheduler who is very inconsiderate and does not consider third shift schedules. Will have the 12 hour third shift staff working every other night at times.
