Job Description for Senior Investment Associate, Financial Services

Most of the time, senior investment associates in financial services work for mutual funds, banking, or insurance companies. They are usually required to sell various investment, insurance, financial services, and/or financial instruments. They are usually required to pass the Series 6 and/or 7 exams that are administered by US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). While performing their jobs, they must adhere to rules and regulations from various government agencies, such as SEC and the Internal Revenue Services (IRS), and the Department of Labor 's Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). The latter covers a wide range of employee benefit plans and their employers' strict guidelines and procedures. Ethics are of the utmost important in this industry.
