Job Description

The senior maintenance technician helps keep their facilities clean and in working order. Depending on the needs of the organization, this may cover a large variety of tasks, such as repairing and performing regular maintenance on fixtures and equipment. They are also responsible for troubleshooting problems as they arise, identifying and addressing potential areas of concern, and operating equipment necessary to complete these tasks. Depending on the employer, these tasks may all take place within a building and its grounds or in several locations; it may also require more specialized maintenance tasks on systems such as security, plumbing, or irrigation. Senior maintenance technicians may also supervise junior maintenance technicians. Successful senior maintenance technicians must have a solid understanding of the various systems under their supervision, though employers may provide on-the-job training.

Pros: You learned new thing everyday. Can't get any schooling for this type of jobs. Worked on high tech tools and abatement system. Have to have wide knowledge of high/low pressure gas and chemical compounds. Deals with a lot of PLC control, program, vacuum, glycol and DI systems.
