Missouri State University grads are so loyal to Springfield that a sizable number choose to stay after graduating, despite median salary there ranking lowest among popular cities ($50K).
A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (CS) earns MO State students the most money after college (an average approximately $75K per year). A Bachelor of Science in Communication commands less pay, and these degree-holders face median pay of around $48K.
Former Bears with SQL abilities can expect to make 41 percent more than their former classmates ($69K). Microsoft Office is a popular skill among MO State alumni, with slightly less than a fourth of workers reporting using it on the job. Proficiency in Project Management, Data Analysis, and SQL command top-of-the-line rewards as well.
Benefits and Perks
Benefits include paid time off, but vacation days are more heavily handed out than sick days; nearly half of the survey participants report receiving the former, but only two-fifths of alumni report receiving the latter. In an effort to save up for the years ahead, a large number of alumni contribute to a 401(k). Health benefits extend to a large number of grads, and a majority of respondents also receive dental coverage. Missouri State University graduates also take advantage of a company-subsidized cell phone, life insurance, a casual working environment, and free drinks.
Among alumni of similar schools, Arkansas State University grads (who make an average of $49K) earn salaries most similar to MO State alumni. Pittsburg State University, Northeastern State University, and Southeast Missouri State University are also similar to MO State.
