A senior human resources manager is someone that needs great communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage relationships between employees and clients. A good amount of strategic know-how is needed with this position, as the job often will have the manager working with different business firms. This position also requires strong level of professionalism and the ability to communicate with other members of the corporate structure.
A senior human resources manager should have significant managerial experience; st least seven years of management experience typically is preferred, and sometimes more than that is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Access are almost always required. Usually an undergraduate degree and a master's in business administration is needed.
Sr. Human Resources (HR) Manager Tasks
- Advise and coach managers on HR policies and programs including employee relations issues.
- Manage daily departmental operations, business planning and budget development of HR programs.
- Ensure policies, procedures and HR programs are consistently administered, aligned with organizational goals and are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws.
- Plan, manage and coordinate all human resources initiatives; recruitment, compensation, benefits, training and employee relations of an organization.
