For those who claim five to nine years of work experience, pay on average amounts to approximately $73K annually. The greater proportion of employees (42 percent) report one to four years of experience and bring home median pay of $58K per year.
Senior Technical Consultants are awarded the highest paychecks, with compensation nearing about $88K annually on average; Senior Business Consultants are next on the list, bringing in close to $75K, followed by Information Technology Consultants earning around $65K and Software Developers making $63K. Earning only $47K on average, Business Analysts make less than most people in the company.
When it comes to location, the highest average paycheck ($72K per year) can be spotted in Washington, DC; the company's headquarter city of Fairfax, Va. (approximately $72K), Cleveland, Ohio (about $56K), and Jacksonville, Fla. (around $55K) are the next top-paying cities. San Antonio, Texas is near the bottom for pay at $43K. CGI Federal workers in District of Columbia earn the most — about $72K annually on average.
Certifications and Degrees
Certified Information Systems Security Professionals earn $98K per year, far more than their non-accredited counterparts. Project Management Professionals also rank high on the pay scale, with expected average earnings of $97K annually. The highest-paying degree here is a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Business Management; CGI Federal awards around $223K to these degree-holders.
Employees who count Project Management among their skills enjoy higher pay; the median for this group is $80K per year. Business Analysis is a popular skill among CGI Federal workers, with just under a fifth of those surveyed reporting using it on the job. Key skills also include SQL, Microsoft Office, and Java.
Benefits and Perks
Only two in five employees enjoy paid vacation days and paid sick time — a rather disappointing finding. CGI Federal sponsors a 401(k) program, and almost all survey participants use this option to save for their retirement. A large number of employees report having health insurance, and most employees report having dental coverage. Some other perks are a stock purchase plan, flexible hours, life insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
