For those who claim five to nine years of work experience, pay on average amounts to $78K annually. Broken down by tenure, the largest share of CGI Federal employees (41 percent) have one to four years of experience and earn about $55K per year on average.
Nearing the top of the pay scale are Senior Technical Consultants, Business Consultants, Information Technology Consultants, and IT Business Analysts; while the first receives the highest median pay at around $93K annually, the other salaries come in at $61K, approximately $60K, and $52K, respectively. Near the bottom at CGI Federal are Application Developers, pulling in an average of just approximately $48K.
When it comes to location, the highest average paycheck ($78K per year) can be spotted in the company's headquarter city of Fairfax, Va.; Arlington, Va. (around $74K), Washington, DC ($72K), and Baltimore, Md. (about $66K) are the next top-paying cities. Lebanon, Va. is one of the lowest-paid cities, with earnings averaging $48K. The highest pay by state can be found in District of Columbia, where salaries average out at about $72K annually.
Certifications and Degrees
Certified Six Sigma Black Belts earn $132K per year, far more than their non-accredited counterparts. Bigger paychecks are awarded to Certified Information Systems Security Professionals with credentials; these people earn $113K annually on average. Those with a Master of Science (MS), Management Information Systems (MIS) at CGI Federal come out on top, and their salaries approach approximately $135K per year.
The highest-paying skill to have may be C#; employees who claim proficiency also report a higher average salary of $83K annually. Folks here also tend to know Business Analysis; on the survey, about a seventh of workers named it in their skills portfolios. Other skills in demand are SQL, Microsoft Office, and Data Analysis.
