Engineering technician find solutions to technical problems for their organization. They are responsible for tasks such as coming up with cost-effective ways to manufacturing new products, finding vendors for components, developing prototypes, performing risk analysis, and coming up with improvements for products that already exist. Engineering technicians also complete design-control documents, test and validate changes, develop 2D and 3D computer models, and create reports that details the costs of manufacturing a product. These professionals must be able to write quality control documents, test and record the performance of each product design, and perform other tasks depending on the technician's specific field.
