Project finance analysts help their upper management to achieve goals by developing innovative ways to increase profitability. They are responsible for moving and converting data to different platforms and formats, and must be able to present this information in ways that are understandable, write test scripts, identify gaps in information, and create reports for project-managers.
Project finance analysts must have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel, the primary report platform. These analysts generally work on teams and must audit each other's work before reporting it to ensure it is error-free. Although goals will change with each project's goals and deadlines, they must stay transparent with information throughout the process to ensure company satisfaction and be able to stage data in test environments to demonstrate improvements to current processes.
A college degree in computer science, math, or economics and prior experience in business analysis are generally required for this position, and sufficient knowledge of computer languages is required for test-manipulation. These analysts may work autonomously or on teams depending on the scope of the project. This is a contract position, and project finance analysts may be required to fulfill other duties as needed by management after projects are finished.
