A business process manager ensures optimal productivity for his or her employer by developing, overseeing, and regulating various work procedures. They may supervise individuals and/or manage computer systems, networking strategies, or quantity-control measures. Business process managers usually divide their working days between their home offices and local, national, or global satellite offices. Therefore, these managers should expect to change locations at a moment's notice and remain on location for a unspecified time period. Generally, business process managers must have at least a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, computer science, or a related field. However, many employers give hiring preferences to those with an master's of business administration (MBA) or master's degree in another business, marketing, or computer system area of concentration. Because this manager's work is generally multifaceted and fast-paced, this job usually requires long hours and extensive travel. They must also have basic computer skills, as well as excellent communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
