There are many amenities and lots of options for shopping and leisure activities. The summers are beautiful and there are large lakes within close proximity to the city. The health care system is better than average in terms of access and cost.
Cons: The traffic in rush hour is better than some larger cities such as Toronto and Vancouver, but it slows down substantially in the winter months. The winters can be brutally cold at times and transportation can be challenging.
