A high school diploma is often a minimum requirement for this position, and multitasking and close attention to detail are highly beneficial. Verbal skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and other software are also helpful. Those who work for lawyers may have administrative tasks such as interviewing potential clients, referring them to lawyers, or filing criminal, civil, and traffic citations, and they also file miscellaneous dockets and court-related documents. Some may also go to banks to deposit checks and perform other banking needs for the company.
