An allocation analyst typically works in a retail environment and their primary responsibility is to ensure that their company has a suitable amount of products available to the customers. This is achieved by creating product availability plans for various seasons, as well as monitoring (and accounting for) fluctuations throughout the year. The allocation analyst is responsible for ensuring the ideal amount of inventory is always available in the retail store to maximize profits. They must be able to gather information regarding consumers and products and use the data to identify trends to make decisions.
