Job Description for Automotive Service Consultant

An automotive service consultant generally works in a facility that performs repairs and other automotive services for customers, such as garages and dealerships. Duties performed by automotive service consultants include scheduling appointments for customers, scheduling alternative vehicles (such as loan vehicles or shuttle rides), initiating repairs and service by assessing customers' needs and writing repair orders. Consultants also prepare estimates, verify customers' warranties and service contracts, and follow up with customers as needed. They may also perform front-desk duties such as cashiering and answering phones.
