A building maintenance worker is responsible for various duties associated with keeping a building in excellent shape in terms of visual appeal, function, and safety for the individuals in the building. Building maintenance workers must possess a very varied skill set; they can be expected to handle plumbing, painting, masonry, roofing, HVAC systems, and many other issues that arise in a building. One day they may be changing air conditioner filters and light bulbs; the next day, they may be dealing with a flooded basement, and, the day after that, they may be replacing worn-out carpeting.
