Construction project managers plan, coordinate, and oversee a wide variety of projects involving the construction or maintenance of facilities, buildings, roadways, and building systems. They oversee the construction process from conceptualization to completion. This includes oversight of construction supervisors, contractors, and various trade workers. Usually, the construction project manager must report on the progress of the project to the owner and local officials. Project managers must have excellent planning skills and be able to effectively schedule tasks, meet deadlines, and follow a budget. They also must effectively manage contractors and vendors, monitoring quality of work performed, and ensuring tasks are completed within budgetary and time restrictions.
