Control system engineers typically work with engineers and coworkers, often explaining technical information to a non-technical audience. They may work at different points in the day depending on their company's needs.
The minimum requirements for this job typically include a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least three years of experience. A bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field and knowledge of relevant programs and codes may also help. Control system engineers should also have knowledge of control systems and feel comfortable working with electronics, computers, software, hardware, and technology in general. Other skills that will help control system engineers include time management, organization, ability to cooperate with others as well as work independently, ability to think on their feet and solve challenging problems, and the ability to work on many things at once.
