Their job duties vary largely depending on the industry in which they work. Largely, though, they they work to assess the environmental impact of a given company or process, and will often work in locations where employees are dealing with dangerous materials on a daily basis. Environmental consultants spend a great deal of their time identifying environmental risks such as these and informing employees of the dangers of these hazards. They do this to ensure that all employees of the company stay safe and handle these materials while minimizing damage and risk to themselves and the environment.
