A reservation sales agent handles booking, cancellations, and inquiries in a hotel environment. They are responsible for responding to calls in a prompt manner, ensuring records are kept accurately, checking the occupancy of other area hotels, working with the sales department to gather information on group bookings, and acting as a liaison between the guest and hotel. Reservations sales agents must be knowledgeable of room rates, room availability, and high-business seasons. Reservations sales agents also attend all hotel staff and procedure meetings to ensure they are well informed and up to date on the latest hotel reservation requirements and operating procedures.
