Business directors' main responsibility is implementing effecting marketing strategies and business decisions. They help develop strategies to foster the growth and development of the business. Business directors work with a variety of departments to develop these strategies,such as sales, legal, and finance. They also analyze existing practices to determine what should be expanded, improved, or ended. Paying attention to their particular market and/or sector is essential in developing and monitoring business practices. Although business analysis and strategy is important, it is also imperative that the business director has excellent interpersonal skills since they work directly with many employees and consumers. These directors also often perform a supervisory role, providing guidance, delegating tasks, and disciplining staff as necessary.
