What is it like working at GameStop Corp.?

District Manager, Retail:
Pros: Fun, team oriented.

To much to do with not enough pay.
Retail Store Manager in Dayton:
Pros: I get to help, train and influence others about sales and video games and Collectibles.
Cons: Decline in sales is put onto the stores as their fault.
Retail Store Manager in Norwalk:
Pros: Get to work with great people and sell products that I personally enjoy.
Cons: Am not paid enough to afford rent my own apartment
Retail Store Manager in Passaic:
Pros: Working with and talking about videogames and related items, helping/building rapport with customers, creating repeat business and trust in the store and employees, free games/hardware/merch from publishers, having a friendly relationship with direct manager.
Cons: Not enough time to do everything asked/not enough payroll, high turnover for hired associates, not giving the store all the tools it needs to be as productive as it could be
It’s relentless.
Retail Store Manager in Denver:
Pros: You get the opportunity to grow and develop employees which can be hugely rewarding. It’s critical that you enjoy competition if you are going to have the energy to achieve the goals set by the company. Selling video games is fun.
Cons: They treat the field as if we make commission. We don’t. You will be held accountable to every metric imaginable and if you exceed expectations one week you will be expected to do even better the next week. The goal posts are constantly moving and changing and very little is done to incentivize the field.
Job is fun Scheduling is not.
Sales Associate in Seattle:
Pros: I Love to be able to talk to guests about games and nerd things in general. I can be myself within reason.
Cons: Corporate doesn't listen to it's workers or it's demographic on what it needs and wants. They also take out their frustrations on the associates hours and money.
High stress low pay.
Assistant Store Manager in Goodyear:
Pros: Seeing my employees and my regular coustomers makes me get out of bed in the morning
Cons: Company micromanages every action I take, I haven't seen a pay increase in 3 years and have been passed over for promotions
