Q: What is it like working at Hampton Inn?

Housekeeping Manager in Colorado Springs:
Pros: People I work with
Cons: Pay

Night Auditor in La Crosse:
"Great job w/ benefits."
No benefit package. Good employee room rates.

Executive Housekeeper in Raleigh:
"Benefits nightmare."
You pay your own medical and package cover is based out of state. Doctors in this state reject this cover. No Offer of 401 k. No sick time offer.

Housekeeper in Brigham City:
"How is this legal?"
Pros: I was able to witness firsthand, the abuse and neglect of my fellow coworkers...being paid 3.50$/room-piece rate..with each room costing the customer close to 100$/night, the customer has every reason to believe that their room will be actually clean and their is NO reasonable expectation that a customer will tip the housekeepers. The housekeepers are told that if the rooms arent clean by check in time that they can be fired (expected to complete their remaining rooms without pay) or pressured/invited to QUIT their job. I like having MORNING PRAYERS with housekeeping manager..but disagree with GROUP HUGGING..as the employees feel obligated to participate when its asked for by mgr. I await lawsuit.
Cons: I do not care for the religious descrimination, (Housekeeping mgr has openly and proudly stated she will only hire people of her LDS faith) or the favoritism (e.g.; "you keep quiet and do as your told and MAYBE you can be promoted if you decide to become best friends with mgmt) or their attitude towards the customer blatant and open use of illicit drugs (laughing and instructing mgr on duty NOT to call the authorities and then expecting MOD to APOLOGIZE for inquiring about the proper way to deal with situation...because it was an interruption in Motel mgr weekend) I don't agree with their policy on the use of Hampton Inn workout room/pool/hot tub by the employees during their off hrs-as its NOT allowed...also, an employee of this Hampton Inn location may NOT book a room during their time off, using the employees discount, at this location(an employee is NOT allowed to use the Hampton Inn facilities that they also work at, for any reason, at any time- outside of work) I could go on..

Front Desk Agent in Belton:
"Hampton Inn review."
Pros: Customer service oriented environment provides an opportunity to develop particular skills.
Cons: The lack of consistency in scheduling and major issues with organization, following up with tasks, and team cohesiveness.

Housekeeper in North Charleston:
"Life at Hampton."
Pros: I like to interact andeet the guests from all over the world. I love giving my all to thier satisfaction.
Cons: The way management favors some employees over others.

General Manager, Hotel in Utica:
Pros: Hamptonality! We get to be a little bit crazy and have a lot of fun! Why do you ask is this a great thing? Because I can be ME while I work and have alot of fun!!
Cons: My ownership company expecects too much in a short amount of time. I took over a money making beast that has alot of HR issues.

Night Auditor in Wilkes-Barre:
"Hotel Night Auditor."
Pros: Interacting with guests.
Cons: Doing the work the previous shift signed off on but didn't complete. No security on site. Dealing with inebriated guests. Multi-tasking..being only person in the hotel trying to check in guests, deliver cots and towels, answer the phone, brew coffees and maintain the beverage bar, run the audit program and process/deliver statements. Provide directions and other duties as assigned.

Front Desk Agent in Urbana:
"Above & Beyond is the key!"
Pros: Putting a smile on their face!
Cons: 3rd party reservations.

Housekeeper in Mt. Vernon:
Pros: What I like the most about my job is that I clean my rooms that I am given very well and that I get compliments on how well they are done and how good they smell by the guest that stay there.
Cons: The things that I don't like about my job is that there are some of the other workers that does not do there job very good and get by with stuff and I don't think that is very fair. There is alot of drama that is another thing that I do not like. The other girls talk about all the other ones.
