PetSmart Inc. Reviews
What is it like working at PetSmart Inc.?
Retail Store Assistant Manager in Loveland:
Pros: Associates and animals
Cons: Stressed out pet parents
Retail Manager in Towson:
Pros: Animal husbandry experience, easy entry into management, good discount
Cons: Understaffed, underpaid, zero work/life balance
"It's a great job, just a bit unfair."
Pros: My co workers are awesome, and I love the job itself. Working with dogs everyday is exactly what I want to do.
Cons: I'm treated unfairly. I am not being paid nearly as much as I deserve. I do not get the respect I deserve.
When I first started I didn't have any experience with working with animals besides my own but had a lot of customer service experience so I started off at $9.25 about 10 months later I became a senior (supervisor) now called a lead and was paid $11.50 then got a raise a few months later to $11.80. We are like family despite our differences there is room for growth ( at least at my store), if you are a hard worker and have good customer service skills and good attendance. Management there can use some tunning up though.
Assistant Store Manager in New York:
Pros: Changing peoples lives for the better
"The Dogs are Great."
Dog Trainer in Cherry Hill:
Pros: getting results in dog training
Cons: some pet parents with negativity
Dog Groomer in Portland:
Pros: PetSmart provides great dog grooming training through it's academy that you don't have to pay upfront for. It gives you legitimate certification you can take anywhere.
Cons: PetSmart is not a company I would recommend working for. I would not take my dog to get groomed there unless I knew the groomer personally. It is a very stressful environment for the dogs as well as the groomers.
