What is it like working at Sodexo, Inc.?
General / Operations Manager in Houston:
Pros: Customer Service. Client Retention.
Unit Clerk in Charlotte:
Pros: The potential it has to be better. Will not get better, though.
Cons: People are thrown into leadership positions, and there is little communication but many assumptions. Zero to little follow up on concerns.
General Manager, Food Service:
Pros: Dealing with customers. Food production. Financial management.
Cons: Expectations that managers can be FT frontline employees and also productive managers.
Pros: I am an Island, standing alone not much support. It is better like that.
Cons: Fighting the battle of time creating the three miracles of the day, Bam!!!

Food Service Worker:
Pros: The set hours 7 to 3.
Cons: I only get a 30 minute lunch and no breaks.
Pros: I like being around the kids & school atmosphere. Not having an upper management in my kitchen. Mostly corresponding by email with the GM.
Cons: Cutting labor hrs when we need that time to prepare. Means more added work, always rushing to get everything done. The pay rate is too low & they don't acknowledge seniority. Also, favoritism goes on.

Pros: For the most part, the people I work with. I've been at the same location for 28 years. I have seen people come & go and I have made some good friendships with a few fellow employees.
Cons: Sometimes I feel it's not easy to advance unless you have a degree of some sort.
