The Gap Inc. Reviews

What is it like working at The Gap Inc.?

The work is great, unfortunately management is lacking in support and training.
Risk Management Specialist in San Francisco:
Pros: I love helping the organization implemented policy and being an advisor to the employees and management.
Cons: No support from management, no communications.
Growth is limited.
Retail Assistant Manager in Greenville:
Pros: I like what I’ve learned over the past 9 years.
Cons: The work/life balance is non existent
Great job to connect with customers and help them out through their shopping experience.
Retail Sales Associate in Palo Alto:
Pros: You get to work with great people and create new friendships.
Cons: Having to put up with customers with attitude.
No two days are the same.
Retail Assistant Manager in Virginia Beach:
Pros: That there is always something to do
Cons: Not enough feedback and guidance on performance
Professional and Transparent, Multi Skill is Mandatory.
Service Coordinator in Jakarta:
Pros: Work environment and company commitment in the community bring pride working in Gap
Cons: I'm requested to multi-task and accommodate office need, during 15 years works company had an adjustment for a range of salary except my position
Senior Software Engineer in Hyderabad:
On the name of DevOps, Hyderabad team is engaged with frivolous work and operations. Local management is mainly focussed on the Great Indian Caste Favouritism and not improving the quality of work. During hiring, they promised 200% variable pay but at the end of the year giving less than 20%, worst part is variable pay is part of offered CTC. Hikes are around 5%.
Low Wages For Managers.
Retail Store Assistant Manager:
Pros: I work with a great team and my general manager makes sure we have a work/life balance. I currently have 5 weeks of paid vacation each year and will top out at 6 weeks this September.
Cons: The low wages for managers. After almost ten years of service with the company, seven of those years I have been in some form of manager, I do not even bring home 20K a year. It is hard to give a job your all when you feel as under appreciated as I do.
