Administrative Assistant:
Pros: Had some nice people to work with.
Cons: 1) Manager lied when my job was "eliminated". 2) Manager picked the 2 oldest people in the group I was in to lay off. 3) My previous manager did not like hearing the "truth" in any manner. 4) My previous manager is ok with her and her managers mixing business with her managers, but don't let her see the staff talking too much. 5) The loan officers would yell and screen at the processors on the phone. 6) Jaime Dimon said he wanted to know what was going on, so I wrote an email and spoke on behalf of the staff, and I got transferred to the other manager.

Admin life.
Administrative Assistant:
Pros: Although I find my job stressful at times I have a great support system thanks to the management team. They are flexible with me in case I need time off and offer me assistance if I ever request some help. This job is a win win, everyone works hard and is generally very happy to be here. It's a very relaxed and productive work environment that I enjoy walking into everyday.
Cons: General stresses of being understaffed can be overwhelming, or having other team members take advantage of your kindness and drop their workloads on you.

How flexible are you?
Administrative Assistant:
Two of the most important qualities necessary in this job, is the ability to be flexible and to be able to multi-task. Some days may be very routine while others are going to be packed with challenges and changes. Don't get to comfortable in a routine as it is bound to change. If you're flexible and able to go with the flow, your job will be much more successful. Stay out of the gossip and things that can hurt you. Always pay attention to the details and work hard. Don't be afraid of sharing your opinion. But make sure to do it at the right time.
